Debra Cascardo, President of the Cascardo Consulting Group

After nearly a year of intense negotiations, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act - better known as healthcare reform - has become law. The question you're probably asking now is: " "What does this mean for me, my practice, and my patients?" "

Today's health care changes have been driven by harsh economic realities. The current economy, increased practice operational costs and deep cuts in Federal and State funding have created the need for practices to tighten up their business side and work efficiently without losing their patient-centric outlook. To prepare for tomorrow's quality based delivery system will require physicians to shift their thinking and patterns of practicing medicine in a relatively short period of time to focus on quality based medicine rather than volume based medicine. Taking small incremental quality steps today can position you for success in the future.

Now is the time to improve your practice's efficiency and look for opportunities to share resources and services with other providers.

In this audio conference, practice executives and physicians will learn strategies to help their practices position themselves and prepare for the future during this transition time. Topics will include:

  • How to engage your management team and develop your practice's action plan with specific goals and target dates.
  • How to review your practice's resources and budget to determine what additional resources you will need to accomplish your specific goals and target dates to move forward with the still evolving healthcare reform
  • How to customize and prepare your implementation process in a step-by- step fashion so that your team does not become overwhelmed
  • How to restructure your practice's philosophy by making Customer Service as a key component of your practice's operations
  • How to make operational improvements during this transition time
  • Strategies to contain costs and prevent unnecessary waste
  • How to review, assess and update your compliance program to determine risk.
  • How to assess your existing computer system and infrastructure to determine if they will meet your operational needs of the future
  • How to determine if an ACO is right for you?
  • Strategies for engaging physicians into a collaborative team oriented environment.
  • How to determine what criteria to consider when aligning with hospitals.
